Fall In Love With: myWedding RSVP
We have fallen in love with myWedding RSVP, a creative and modern alternative to traditional paper-based RSVP services. Husband and wife team Lisa & Ryan Johnson, Ottawa-based web designers, tell us about the benefits of online RSVP’s and why they work for every bride. I am personally a huge fan of Lisa & Ryan’s site – it makes the RSVP process simplistic, inexpensive, accesible, easy on your guests, environmentally friendly, and honestly it’s really convenient. I think it’s much more practical than the traditional RSVP, and it’s so pretty! Lisa tells us about her experience planning her own wedding and the complications that she had with RSVP’s, and her awesome resolution.

Wed By Hand: Ottawa’s Indie Wedding Show
Having previously attended a number of wedding shows in Ottawa, I have found that they are generally of the same mould. This wedding show was different. They had entirely unique vendors with incredible visions. Each vendor was an inspiration for me, and showed me that Ottawa has some incredibletalent and vision. “Wed By Hand is Ottawa’s DIY, handmade and eco-friendly wedding show. We’re your one stop shop for discovering unique wedding vendors, learning how to DIY your wedding and to sample tasty treats from small-batch food producers”. (see part 2 of the article here)…

Food for Though: Tulips & Maple’s Spring “Catertaining” Event
I received an invitation last month to Tulips & Maple‘s Spring “Catertaining” Event – a showcase of the Ottawa catering company’s latest and greatest and an opportunity for them to get feedback from those of us in the industry. With my man in tow, we made our way to their facilities on Merivale Road, which is actually a very chic reception venue, and had our fingers crossed! Let me tell you, I’ve never seen anything like it before. (Make sure you check out part 2 to this article here - Blair Gable’s photography is much better than mine).
